The mission of the Centre for Regional and Global Studies is to pursue fundamental and applied interdisciplinary research on regional and global topics in the areas of international relations, geopolitics, geo-strategy, geo-economics, and security and defence studies. The regional focus of the centre is on topics related to the EU, Russia, the “new Eastern Europe”, the Black Sea region, the South-eastern Europe, the Greater Middle East, and the transatlantic relations. The global focus of the centre is on topics related to the global governance, the emergent global order, transnational security threats, and the security effects of climate change.
